Susan Hoenig
Susan Hoenig connects Earth and Art to make visible the relationship between habitat, plant and animal life. She studies the evolutionary impact of the forest understory and leads Walking Tours of her Ecological Leaf Sculptures at the Graeber Woods Preserve, Franklin Township, N.J. Susan works at the Featherbed Lane Bird Banding Station in the Sourland Mountains of New Jersey. This unique experience has greatly inspired her paintings about biodiversity and wildlife.
Susan received a BA from Bennington College and an MFA from the University of Iowa. She teaches in Out-Reach Programs through the Arts Council of Princeton and the Stony-brook Watershed in Pennington, N.J.
Susan was a recipient of a New Jersey State Arts Council Sculpture Fellowship, Cambridge City Arts Council Grant and a Creative Climate Award from The Human Impact Institute in N.Y.C.
