Joy Kreves

Joy Kreves was born in a Chicago suburb.  After receiving her master’s degree in studio art from Illinois State University she moved to New York City, where she exhibited in many underground art shows including “Terminal New York”at the Brooklyn Army-Navy Yard, and “The Met Annex”, with Group Scud. She has resided in New Jersey near the Delaware River since 1986, and works in studios in Ewing and Hopewell.

She has exhibited in solo, invitational and juried shows on the east coast, including The Catskills Art Society in NY, The Freyberger Gallery at Penn State in Berks, Pa, and the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists in Redbank, Brooklyn. She was one of three artists in “Asking For the Fire” at Metuchen’s Westerhoff Gallery.  She has been a featured artist at The Hunterdon Museum, Clinton; Borofsky Gallery, Philadelphia, Pa; Trenton City Museum, New Hope Arts, and Mercer Community College, NJ, The D&R Greenway, Princeton, and The Monmouth Museum, NJ. She was a member of The Artists’ Gallery in Lambertville, NJ for many years.  Her sculpture “Flatware Forest Teaspoons” was selected for the 2018 New Jersey Arts Annual at Rowan University Art Gallery.

Solo exhibitions have included the CVA Gallery at Ill State U in Normal, Illinois; Windows On White St, and Corridor Gallery in NYC; Trenton City Museum; Erdman Gallery in Princeton; Silva Gallery in Pennington; Rider University Gallery in Lawrenceville; A Space On Main Gallery in Cranbury; Tulpehaking Center in Trenton; West Windsor Art Center, and Hopewell Design Farm, all in NJ.

Kreves is a member of ROOTS, Princeton Artist Alliance (PAA), Artsbridge, Trenton Artists Workshop Association ( TAWA), The Hunterdon Museum, New Hope Arts, and Animal Architects.
